I was born in this beautiful Sicilian town, Castellammare del golfo, then at the age of 20 we moved to New York.

But now I remain of the idea that my land is unparalleled.

Sicily is well known but perhaps Castellammare del Golfo much less and I assure you that it has nothing to envy to all the most famous marine locations in the world.

Castellammare del golfo
The beautiful scenery of this beautiful resort, which consists mainly of its beautiful beaches with its clean sea and its shades of green and sand.
The architectural symbol of the city is without a shadow of doubt the Norman Arab Castle, the reason for the name of the city.
It is a defensive structure built around a ditch cut into the mountain (and therefore ‘impervious’ to enemy attacks) built under the Arab domination, and today home to an important museum, “The Memory of the Mediterranean”.
Another museum housed in the castle is the Annalisa Buccellato Ethno-Anthropological Museum, dedicated to the different aspects of Sicilian civilization, which contains objects of daily use related to the main agricultural crops, tools of various crafts, tools and household utensils.
The historic fishing port has a very picturesque position, under steep mountain slopes, with a beautiful curved little port at the foot of a small promontory surmounted by a castle.
Castellammare is touristy enough that visitors do not feel out of place, but it is not overcrowded by hotels and has an authentic Sicilian “feel”.
There are still small fishing boats running in Castellammare, and you can see fishermen repair their nets on board, or sell the catch of the day at ramshackle tables on the quay.
